About Us

Our Story

The idea for DNA Physical Therapy & Athletics evolved over a 10-year relationship in which co-owners Andrea Bulat and Becci Harper shared their experiences with treatment, training, and sports both from the trainer/therapist and the athlete's point of view.

While sharing their experiences, Becci was in a severe car accident that produced long-lasting effects in every aspect of her life. Andrea sustained a series of compounding injuries while training and competing as a high-level javelin thrower, which hindered her potential. Using their extreme experiences, Andrea and Becci developed a multi-faceted approach to care and performance, which helped to eliminate the gap between therapy, training, and a return to activity.

As a result of their experience and dedication to their own recovery, DNA was born. Through a desire to enhance all aspects of athletic sports training, injury treatment, and prevention, Andrea and Becci agreed that longer treatment times with actual therapists and performance specialists should be the gold standard, not wishful thinking. They also believed in functional dynamic training to unleash, reinforce and enhance athleticism.

As they have endeavored through their journey, Andrea and Becci realized that regardless of whether or not someone was an athlete, they should still need to be athletic in their daily life.

Thus, the "DNA way" was born and is now a reality, not only for Andrea and Becci but for every athlete, big or small.

In the words of Bill Bowerman, "If you have a body, you ARE an athlete!"

Our Approach

DNA Physical Therapy & Athletics combines physical therapy, fitness, and performance training to fill the gap between patients finishing physical therapy and needing skilled training to return to an active lifestyle. Performance training allows athletes of all ages and skill levels an opportunity to maximize her or his potential in any given athletic endeavor.

Our approach includes individuals that are not yet athletes but have athletic goals. Both of our therapists have extensive experience dealing with all types of injuries related to sports, auto accidents, and chronic pain, including pre and post-op physical therapy. Therefore, we believe we are best positioned to ensure we can get you back to where you were or where you want to be.

Overall through both DNA Physical Therapy and DNA Athletics, each athlete is evaluated and trained using a unique multi-faceted, and multi-phased approach. This will allow the individual with athletic goals to compete without getting injured, the “weekend warrior” to learn to train smarter, develop the young athlete into a higher-level resilient athlete, and help the established athlete stay in the game longer.
